Mom and Dad go HUNTING
WOW! Josh and I went hunting for two 9-hour days in 15 degree weather, and I ENJOYED it! I didn't even get cold (I think I was too excited). I loved being out in the woods and the snow - there was a group of five of us, out hunting in some timber that was attached to corn fields. I saw the top-half of a beautiful buck coming up over a ridge about 40 yards away from me, I took one shot and missed and he was gone. I was using Josh's old 20 gauge shotgut with slugs, which are the only thing legal in Iowa to use with shotgun. Rifles are illegal here because of the terrain - since it's so flat your ammo travels much further than it would out in the mountains. So it's either muzzleloader, shotgun, or bow. One of the men in our group got a doe but she fell in the river and there was no way to get to her, and that was it.

DAD BECOMES A CITY COUNCILMAN
How proud we are! Josh ran for City Council here in De Soto, Iowa and won! There were three open spots, and six people running - and Josh was #1 with the largest amount of votes! Because of that he was sworn in two months early as there was an open seat. I know he'll do great things for our city, and am SO PROUD!

VEGAS BABY!
Kyler takes a trip to VEGAS! What a nice vacation at almost two months old, Kyler loved all of the lights and it was great to meet some family! Dinner with Grandma Sandy, Grandpa Brad, and Shirley and Don at a lively German restaurant was definitely a highlight. The ceiling was painted and Kyler couldn't stop staring!Posted by The joy of our life! at 5:12 PM 0 comments
Three Little Angels
Kyler and his cousins, Curtis(left) and Isaac(center), all boys born this summer. It was quite an interesting photo shoot with these three little guys... Grandpa had a lot of patience and we got some interesting shots of their personalities. There were very few pictures where someone wasn't being pushed, chewed on, drooled on, or squeezed.

COVER THOSE EYES! Mom tries to shield Kyler from all of the sights he's a little too little to see...
