It's a Baby!

Josh and I got to take a peek at baby on Monday(at 9 weeks), it was fun! It wasn't a super long visit, and little peanut only moved around once, but it was nice to see that there's actually a baby in there! My due date will stay as June 27th, which is exciting, and we'll see how the rest of the pregnancy goes. Still sick :( and learning to cope with it, but sometimes there's still just a bad day or bad couple of hours and nothing I can do about it.

The nurse I talked to who went over my pregnancy chart said that most women only have one other ultrasound in their pregnancy, at about 20 weeks, but since Kyler was 9lbs6oz and was even induced a week early, he probably would have been 10lbs on my due date, so they will probably do some extra fetal-weight ultrasounds towards the end to "see if we need to induce early." We'll see, I didn't want to have to be induced this time, but I also absolutely DON'T want to end up with an emergency C-section because of a giant baby, so we'll see what happens.

And yes, my belly has already poked out! Ugh! It's really uncomfortable and crampy, and I can't button my pants! Anyway, that's the baby update, yes, it's a baby!

Mr. Mayor Chapman!

Yes, we are so proud, Josh is the new MAYOR of DeSoto, Iowa! He had been on the City Council for 2 years now, and decided he wanted to take it one step further and run for the office of Mayor. His major goals are to set out a 5-year city plan, with future projects and goals decided on along with deadlines. It is easier to finance city-wide projects without raising taxes if they can be planned ahead, as obviously his main objective is to SAVE MONEY, and he will be dilligently searching for ways to cut back spending and welcome new business. He also looks forward to being able to manage the Department heads and work more closely with them so that everyone is on the same page. I am really looking forward to seeing these things accomplished! Things are already getting busy, and I even was called and asked specifically to attend a library function. Josh is only 27, so who knows what the future holds!

Yep, we're expecting a BABY!

Alright, so if you haven't noticed the pregnancy ticker on the right side - I'm pregnant! As of right now I'm due June 27th, which is my birthday! I am 6 1/2 weeks along, and not feeling so good. I haven't yet actually thrown up(same thing with Kyler), but just feel very "car-sick" for most all of the day, and a little dizzy and exhausted. Keeping my mind off of it by finger painting with Kyler or whatever seems to help, also spending a good amount of time on the couch of course...

I have an ultrasound on November 21st, and a doctor's appointment 2 days later. That will pinpoint my due date more acurately, so it may change. But that would be cool to have a baby on my birthday! We are planning on TRYING to not find out the baby's gender until it's born, but we'll see how that goes ;) Before I took the pregnancy test, I just knew I was pregnant, and had 3 dreams in a row about delivering the baby and it coming out a girl. Since then, nothing though. So we'll see!

Trick or Treat!

Trick-or-treating was SO much fun with Kyler on Halloween, he did awesome and really loved it. He even knocked on the doors with his own little fists, and after one man asked him to make a fire truck sound, Kyler started saying "wheew wheew!" at every house. Cute cute!

We went to Gma & Gpa Chapman's house after trick-or-treating, and hung out for a while, where Kyler insisted on "holding" baby Leah(well, Kyler still thinks she's a baby, but she's already 8 months!). He LOVES babies! He was giggling and rubbing her back, it was so sweet. One time he even got a new mommy at WalMart to bend down so he could give her baby a kiss, and I didn't even catch it until the end!

Pumpkins

We had so much fun carving pumpkins with Kyler! I thought it was going to be a trainwreck, because he usually HATES having anything messy on his hands, but once he got the idea of picking the seeds out he loved cleaning out the pumpkins, and got more comfortable with the orange squishiness and started actually playing with the pumpkin guts. Fun fun! Oh, and when Kyler says pumpkin, it comes out "Cup" this year, don't know why... hehe

We had a Chapman-family pumpkin day at Josh's parents' house with all of the other kids this year. Grandma and Grandpa Chapman planted a bunch of pumpkins, and we did trailer rides behind the tractor, and I painted all of the kids faces too. Kyler even let me paint a pumpkin on his cheek, and he not only left it alone, but thought it was SOooo cool.

Truck Birthday Party!

Our Kyler turned TWO! We had an AWESOME party in the middle of September, and everything was trucks! His whole world has been trucks for the past year now, and he just loved the party. We had tons of Josh's family over, (like 30 people!) and it was SO great to see everyone there. (Wishing I could move Idaho closer so my whole family could come too! When you're already feeding 30, why not make it 60 right? hehe! love and miss you guys!)

We did some fun outdoor games, a water-relay game and a three-legged race. Everyone was very helpful, thanks guys! Kyler did super with the water-relay, he was so serious about filling his cup up with water and carefully carrying it to the bucket to dump it in. I was SO PROUD! All the kids had so much fun, many of them didn't want to leave and asked to do it again. As much work as went into it, it was so worth it and I think Kyler will just have to be spoiled again at his parties for years to come.

Cute Kyler eating with his buddies - Josh fixed Kabobs that were WONDERFUL! Good job honey and thanks for all the work.

Cramming everyone into our house to open presents was hilarious! Kyler has loved every single thing he got, and has played with or used everything. THANK YOU GUYS! He was also spoiled by great gifts sent in the mail from out-of-town family, I love that he is loved so much.

Summer Summary 2009

I've been out of blogging for quite a while.... sorry! Here is an update of most of what our summer held, the first picture of Kyler and I feasting on a deep fried milky way from the Iowa State fair, yum yum!

Boating with grandma and grandpa Chapman, Kyler even went tubing and drove the jetski with daddy! Also, Kyler shows off some sweetcorn from our garden this year... it was SUPER good!

Lots and lots of projects around the house this summer, Josh put in tons of hard work and hours refinishing and staining our decks, working on the landscape, building two beautiful benches... and the list goes on. Thanks so much honey!

I could post a hundred pictures, but these are a couple from our Nauvoo trip with my sister Kimberly and the whole Chapman clan. Nauvoo is always a great experience, it was wonderful to share it with my sis this year!

Slip n' Slide and Fourth of July!

Now this was a very interesting experience, Josh's parents have a huge sledding hill on their property, so I thought, why not have a giant slip n' slide on it? With some tarps, hundreds of feet of painters plastic, and a dozen tent stakes, we threw this together. WOW. I don't think I've ever laughed so much in one day! Jake got out the dish soap, which definitely helped with the speed, but also made the grass really stick them too... Yes, the grass is still alive, and we're hoping for a redesigned, and even further lenghtened round 2!

Hope and Hannah are seriously strategizing in this picture, and Kyler wanted to go down it on the toy car :) hehe

For the fourth of July we went to the grassy area surrounding the church to view the Waukee city fireworks. Kyler took some time to warm up to the idea of sparklers, but with many many cousins to watch playing with them, he finally got brave enough to have some fun with them.
