Memorial Day Weekend

We had an awesome Memorial Day weekend! It was beautiful weather, and we just took it easy and had some fun. The picture above is the Memorial Day breakfast organized by Ralph Watts and the Young Republicans of Dallas County, an organization which Josh's brother started that Josh helps out with. Josh even got a reporter from the Dallas County News there :) The photo is of the Republican candidates and elected officials who attended - and JOSH is up there of course, and his dad :) SO proud! Even Branstad came, who is running for Governer of Iowa.

Josh fixed up the behind-the-bike-trailer-thing that we got on craigslist the end of last year (for $10!) and got his biked hooked up and has taken Kyler for some "baby-cycle" rides, which he loves.

We had some gorgeous lightning storms, and a bonfire at Josh's parents' house where they threw their dried up Christmas tree on(wish I had a picture of THAT!) which just about lit the whole forest on fire haha.
We all got together at Josh's parents' house on Memorial Day and hung out by the pool, and it was so nice to actually feel like it's finally summer now :) a perfect temp - 81 degrees of sunshine. Josh's cousin Jess was there with her little baby girl Gianna, who is now almost 3 weeks old - of course I had to steal her for a while. I forgot how small newborns are!
